Otago Post First Win!

Otago registered their first win of the season shutting out Hawkes Bay by one point at Carisbrook tonight.  In windy conditions, Otago did enough in the first half to ensure they had points on the board.  Heading into the shed they were up 10 points to 3.  Captain Alando Soakai cross in the first half for a five pointer and this was followed early in the second half by front rower Kees Meeuws giving the home team an eight point lead.  This was whittled to 1 point with 10 minutes to go when Magpies hooker, Hika Elliot went over under the posts.  Otago held onto possession for the last 10 minutes to ensure the win!
